How can therapy help?
Therapy at Mindful Connections LLC offers a safe, nurturing space where you can gently process challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, or self-harm, tailored to your unique needs as a Pennsylvania resident. Led by me, Gina Casner, a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, it blends evidence-based approaches like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Reconstruction with mindfulness and somatic techniques to support your emotional resilience, physical grounding, and spiritual hope. Whether you’re a teen navigating school pressures or an adult seeking renewal, therapy can help you rediscover strength, build coping skills, and foster a sense of peace at your own pace, complementing our holistic three-pillar approach.
How long will I need to participate in therapy before I feel better?
The time it takes to feel better through therapy varies for each person, as healing is a personal journey that honors your unique pace and circumstances. Some clients notice shifts in emotional well-being within a few sessions (e.g., 4–6 weeks), while deeper issues like trauma may take longer—often 6-12 months or more with regular sessions (weekly or biweekly, 50 minutes). We invite you to trust the process, checking in with me during our sessions to adjust your path, ensuring you feel supported as you grow stronger over time.
What can I expect to happen in a therapy session?
In a therapy session at Mindful Connections LLC, we create a warm, judgment-free space where you’re in control of what you share. Each 50-minute online session begins with a gentle check-in to see how you’re arriving, followed by exploring your feelings, thoughts, or goals using tailored techniques like CBT or somatic exercises to nurture your emotional, physical, and spiritual health. We may set intentions, reflect on progress, or try grounding practices, always at a pace that feels right for you, ending with a moment to plan your next steps or homework.
May I include family members in my therapy sessions?
Yes, we warmly invite family members to join your therapy sessions at Mindful Connections LLC when it feels supportive for your healing journey, available to Pennsylvania residents. Family sessions, which can enhance emotional connection and understanding, are priced at an additional $25 per session on top of the individual rate, lasting 60 minutes. Please let me know during your consultation if you’d like to include loved ones, and we’ll coordinate to ensure it’s a safe, beneficial experience for everyone involved.

How can coaching help?
Coaching at Mindful Connections LLC offers a warm, empowering space where you can grow at your own pace, whether you’re a teen navigating life’s challenges or an adult seeking to enhance your mindset and goals. Led by me, Gina Casner, it provides non-therapeutic, practical tools to build resilience across our holistic three pillars: emotional health (like managing stress with self-compassion), physical health (such as grounding through movement), and spiritual health (finding purpose and inner peace). Whether you’re working on productivity, goal attainment, or life/business decisions individually, or joining group programs like Empower You (for bullying) or Rediscover Her (for post-divorce renewal), coaching complements therapy by fostering skills to thrive, helping you rediscover your strength and confidence wherever you are in the world.
What can I expect to happen in a coaching session?
In a coaching session at Mindful Connections LLC, we create a safe, judgment-free space where you’re in charge of your growth journey, offered globally for 50 minutes. We’ll start with a gentle check-in to see how you’re feeling, then explore your goals or challenges—perhaps setting intentions, trying mindfulness exercises, or brainstorming action steps to support your emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. You might engage in fun activities like role-playing (if it feels right) or reflect on progress, always at a pace that suits you, ending with a plan to integrate tools into your daily life, making each session a step toward empowerment.
How are therapy and coaching different?
Therapy and coaching at Mindful Connections LLC both support your growth but serve distinct purposes, reflecting our holistic approach. Therapy, available to Pennsylvania residents, is a clinical process led by my credentials as a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, focusing on healing mental health challenges like anxiety or trauma with evidence-based techniques like CBT, addressing deeper emotional wounds and requiring licensure.
Coaching, offered globally, is non-therapeutic, emphasizing skill-building for goals like productivity or resilience through mindfulness and empowerment, complementing therapy without diagnosing or treating conditions—think of therapy as mending the past and coaching as shaping your future, both nurturing your emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
What type of group coaching programs do you offer?
We occasionally offer group coaching programs at Mindful Connections LLC, designed to foster community and shared growth for teens and adults worldwide. Popular options include Empower You (a 4-week program at $300 for navigating bullying), Rediscover Her (an 8-week program at $400 for post-divorce renewal), and Holiday Harmony (a 4-week program at $400 for surviving holiday stress), each tailored to 4–6 participants with holistic tools across emotional, physical, and spiritual pillars. We invite you to contact us at gina@mindfulconnectpa.com or during your consultation to learn about current schedules and how these programs can support your unique journey, with adjustments possible based on your socioeconomic needs.
What topics would group therapy cover?
Our group therapy sessions, offered occasionally to Pennsylvania residents, provide a supportive space to explore emotional healing at a lower cost, typically priced at $200–$250 for a 4-week program. Topics may include managing anxiety and depression, processing trauma, building self-esteem, or navigating family dynamics, all approached with trauma-informed care to honor your emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. We encourage you to reach out to gina@mindfulconnectpa.com or during your consultation to discover upcoming group themes and how they can complement your individual path.
Appointments and cancellations
We invite you to please remember to cancel or reschedule your appointments at Mindful Connections LLC at least 48 hours in advance to honor your time and ours—late cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours will incur the full session fee. More than 2 no-call/no-shows or 4 total missed appointments (not rescheduled within the original week) may lead to a temporary discharge from the practice for 90 days for the first occurrence or 180 days for the second, with a third occurrence resulting in permanent discharge. If you’re running late, you may lose some session time, but we’re here to work with you—let’s discuss any adjustments to the 50-minute standard session length in advance to ensure it fits your needs.
Frequency of sessions
The frequency of your therapy or coaching sessions will be lovingly decided during your initial 15-minute consultation, with a gentle requirement to meet weekly for the first 3 sessions to complete assessments and build trust. Weekly or biweekly sessions are most common to support your growth, while monthly appointments may be considered after at least 6 months of consistent treatment (or coaching) at either level, adjustable if symptoms resurface—we’ll tailor this to what feels right for you.
Telephone accessibility
If you need to reach me between sessions at Mindful Connections LLC, please leave a voicemail, and I’ll do my best to return your call within 24 hours, though I may not always be immediately available. Face-to-face virtual sessions are preferred, but phone sessions are an option on a case-by-case basis (e.g., if you’re out of town or unwell) billed at the same rate as regular sessions, prorated by duration—let’s discuss this if it feels right for you. For emergencies, please call 911/988 or your local emergency room.
Social Media and Telecommunication
To protect your confidentiality and maintain clear boundaries, I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on social media platforms like Facebook or LinkedIn at Mindful Connections LLC. We believe this helps safeguard your privacy and keeps our therapeutic or coaching relationship focused and safe—if you have questions, feel free to bring them up during our sessions. For scheduling or cancellations, you may use email (gina@mindfulconnectpa.com) or text, but please avoid sharing therapeutic content or emergency requests there, as I cannot guarantee immediate responses or full confidentiality via electronic media.
Minors
At Mindful Connections LLC, we see clients ages 14 and up in Pennsylvania, where the minor mental health consent age is 14, empowering you to sign most counseling paperwork. Your parents will handle payment policies, serve as emergency contacts, and join one family session every 30–45 days, with limited access to your information (more restricted after 14)—we’ll work together to decide what’s appropriate to share. If I suspect acute suicidality requiring emergency services, I’ll inform your parents despite confidentiality, first encouraging you to share, to ensure your safety.
Concluding Services
Ending our relationship at Mindful Connections LLC can be a tender process, and we’ll work toward closure together based on the length and intensity of our work. I may suggest termination after discussion if therapy isn’t effective or payments are overdue, providing a list of qualified therapists for your next steps—you may also choose your own. If you miss scheduling for three consecutive weeks without advance notice, I’ll consider our professional relationship discontinued for legal and ethical reasons.
Coaching and Therapy Client Crossover
To uphold counseling ethics from the American Counseling Association and protect you, therapy clients at Mindful Connections LLC cannot transition to individual coaching unless they’ve terminated therapy for 5 years (at this or any practice) and receive approval.

Coaching clients can move to therapy, ending the coaching relationship, while therapy clients may join group therapy or trainings, and coaching clients may join group coaching or trainings—let’s explore this together if it feels right for your path.

If you have questions about how my faith shapes my approach, feel free to discuss them during your consultation—we’re here to walk with you, whatever your path.
How will my information be protected?
At Mindful Connections LLC, we take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your information with the highest standards of care. What qualifications do you have as a therapist and a coach?
I’m Gina Casner, a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, working toward full licensure under supervision, bringing over 10 years of experience in mental health, including family preservation and suicide prevention. My training includes trauma, chronic suicidality, and holistic techniques like CBT and mindfulness, which I weave into both therapy and coaching to nurture your emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. We invite you to learn more about my journey on our About Me page or during a consultation.

What is the difference between LAPC and LPC in Pennsylvania?
At Mindful Connections LLC, I’m Gina Casner, a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) in Pennsylvania, working toward full licensure, and we invite you to understand the difference as you consider your journey. An LAPC, like myself, has completed a master’s degree in counseling and passed initial licensure exams, but requires supervision (currently by a master’s-level therapist and a PhD psychologist) to gain the required 3,000 supervised hours before becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), which grants full, independent practice rights in PA. Both provide high-quality, trauma-informed support for your emotional, physical, and spiritual health, but as an LAPC, I bring fresh perspectives and ongoing mentorship, ensuring you receive care that’s both guided and growing, with full LPC status expected by Summer 2026.
Can I continue seeing you if I move outside of Pennsylvania?
If you move out of Pennsylvania, we invite you to explore your options with care at Mindful Connections LLC. Therapy services are limited to Pennsylvania residents due to my licensure as a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, so we’d need to pause or refer you to a local therapist if you relocate. However, you can continue coaching globally, supporting your emotional, physical, and spiritual growth wherever you are—let’s discuss this during a consultation to plan your next steps.
Do you have a waiting list?
At Mindful Connections LLC, there may be a waitlist depending on availability at each individual payment tier, as we strive to balance accessible care with a sustainable practice for all clients in Harrisburg and beyond. Following a successful initial 15-minute phone consultation, your name will be added to a confidential waitlist managed through our HIPAA-compliant software, ensuring your privacy is protected as we nurture your emotional, physical, and spiritual health. Waitlist spots for individual therapy or coaching are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and we invite you to reach out or check back with us to see when an opening aligns with your needs.

Group coaching and group therapy are made available as options with specific sign-up dates and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. A separate waitlist is maintained for those who may be interested in either of these options for the future and will receive first option for registration.

Consultations or group training are based on mutual availability.

Can I submit for reimbursement from my insurance company for therapy services?
Currently, at Mindful Connections LLC, we’re unable to accept insurance assignment or support reimbursement as I’m a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC), which limits my ability to bill directly or provide Superbills under Pennsylvania regulations. However, once I achieve full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by Summer 2026 and obtain an NPI number, I’ll be able to offer Superbills upon request, allowing you to seek partial reimbursement from your insurance company as an out-of-network provider—if your plan permits. At that time we invite you to check with your insurer about out-of-network benefits or discuss this with me during a consultation to plan for your emotional, physical, and spiritual health journey.
Why don't you accept insurance?
At Mindful Connections LLC, we’ve chosen not to accept insurance to offer you a more personalized and private experience, free from the complexities often involved with insurance processes. This decision allows us to prioritize your confidentiality by keeping your sensitive emotional, physical, and spiritual health information out of large medical databases, reducing the risk of breaches or unwanted sharing. Additionally, it gives us the flexibility to set our own sliding fee scale and provide tailored care without the constraints of lower reimbursement rates or rigid insurance requirements, ensuring you receive the compassionate support you deserve at a pace that feels right for you.

Why is your practice called Mindful Connections?
Mindful Connections LLC is named to reflect our holistic approach to healing and growth, where mindfulness fosters deep connections to yourself and others through our three pillars: emotional health (honoring feelings with compassion), physical health (grounding through body awareness and vitality), and spiritual health (finding purpose and inner peace). As Gina Casner, I chose this name because, in my own life, focusing on these pillars has led to profound healing and post-traumatic growth, allowing me to connect more authentically with clients in Harrisburg and beyond. We invite you to experience how mindful connections can support your unique journey toward well-being.
How long are intake appointments?
Intake appointments at Mindful Connections LLC are thoughtfully designed to be 60 minutes, creating a safe space to begin your journey with care. For counseling (available to Pennsylvania residents), this initial session includes a trauma-informed biopsychosocial assessment, collaborative treatment planning, creation of a safety crisis plan, an overview of practice policies and your client rights, and some formal mental health assessments when time allows, all tailored to honor your emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. For coaching (available globally), the 60-minute intake reviews your initial form, discusses goals and priorities, provides a personal/professional overview, creates a coaching plan, covers practice policies and client rights, and assigns gentle action items for your next session—feel free to book a free consultation to experience how this sets a supportive foundation.
What is your availability?

We invite you to check our booking portal for current openings or discuss your preferred times during a free consultation.
